Assistive Tech is a field of technological development that offers practical support for people with different needs. The assistive tech line of products targets the activities of daily living and aims to improve the overall ability to function successfully in everyday pursuits.

Many of the innovations use computer vision, a technology that enables computers to recognize and interpret the complex assortment of images, objects, and behaviors in the surrounding environment.

1) RightHear

RightHear is an Israeli star-up company that provides spatial and navigation solutions to people with low vision and other orientation challenges. The use of easily available technology can contribute to multi-population; the RightHear is an app that can be downloaded to any smartphone. Navigation in indoor places is now possible with the RightHear app – it uses voiceover for walking direction and alerts for different objects in the environment.

2) Freedom Scientific

Freedom Scientific is provided access to print and computers for individuals with blindness and low vision. Their innovative technology is designed to promote independence, allowing blind and low vision individuals the same access to information as their sighted peers.


Jaws is a screen reader developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse.


Fusion is an accessible tool for schools, agencies, training centers, and businesses where vision loss individuals are served. Fusion provides screen magnification and visual enhancements for screen viewing ease, coupled with the power and speed of JAWS® for screen reading functionality.

3)Orcam reader

OrCam Read assists people who have certain levels of visual impairment, a wide range of reading difficulties. People who have severe levels of visual impairment would have difficulties using the device.
